I think my question may not have been clear enough. What I want to achieve =
is a recording on the Sony M10 in stereo from a mono source with one channe=
l at full strength, and one at -12dB.

The way I had thought I could do this is by wiring a stereo mini jack from =
the mono iRig Pre output. The first channel would be the normal output from=
the iRig, the second channel would have a 'L-Pad', consisting of a series =
resistor of 10 k=CE=A9, and a 3.6 k=CE=A9 shunt resistor to common. However=
, I don't have enough electronics knowledge to know whether this would work=
, or whether it would affect the first channel.

The Sony M10's manual gives these input specs:

Microphone jack (minijack, stereo), input for
plug in power
=E2=80" Input impedance: 3.9 k=CE=A9
=E2=80" Minimum input level: 0.9 mV
=E2=80" Rated input level: 2.5 mV

LINE IN jack (minijack, stereo)
=E2=80" Input impedance: 22 k=CE=A9
=E2=80" Minimum input level: 500 mV
=E2=80" Rated input level: 2 V

The iRig Pre states that its maximum output is 2 Vrms, but gives very littl=
e other information.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks,

Ben
