My earlier reply was based on an incorrect assumption: that the iRig Pre wa=
s drawing its power from the iPhone. Upon further examination I noticed tha=
t the iRig is powered from a 9 volt battery within its box.
With that knowledge, I'd likely say don't use the mike's internal AA to pow=
er the mike, use the phantom power from the iRig instead.
But it's still worth doing a test to see if one way or the other gives you =
a quieter noise floor or lower distortion.
The one definite policy here: don't have both power sources active at the s=
ame time.
