Hello all, I finally received the Olympus LS-12 and measured an EIN of -120 dBu(A), which is 2 dB worse than the LS-5/10/11. I agree that its built quality and the general impression is a step back compared to the previous series. As someone who needs glasses I also find that the thin font type on the menu is quite difficult to read (the display on the old model has a better contrast and its font type is bold). I also noticed that they dropped the PCM Rec Format option 44.1kHz/24bit (the 24 bit resolution is now only available at 88.1 and 96.0 kHz). However, considering its lower price (159 Euros) and some additional features, such as the Pre-Recording, I think it is still a good value for the money. Regards, Raimund |
