For anyone who would like to know...

The preamp on this device is not any quieter then the LS-11. The LS-14 has a 
High, medium, and low sensitivity for it's mics, while the LS-11 only has a low 
and high. Testing both devices in the "high" sensitivity, it appears to me the 
LS-14 is just as noisy, if not slightly more noisier then the LS-11. This is a 
huge disappointment to me, specially with all the product details Olympus 
released about the LS-14/12 having it's preamp on a separate circuit board like 
the LS-100. At this point I am almost ready to pack the device and send it back.
