Hi Alan, 

Indeed, the peak frequency measure might not be well suited for describing 
species that produce broad-band frequency spectra that lack a single distinct 
peak. 

In these cases, other spectral parameters such as quartiles (the 50% quartile 
represents the center of gravity) or minimum and maximum frequencies (relative 
to the peak amplitude) might be more appropriate.
