Hi there,
I have to confess that I wasn't too happy about using the headphone socket,=
but I figured that if it started blowing up iPhones there'd be complaints!=
I already have the iPod so no expense there, and I wasn't aware of the Apo=
gee. Having looked at the latter it looks good, but's considerably more exp=
ensive here in the UK. I'm getting the iRig for =A325.oo ($40 US)inclusive =
of postage, and the cheapest Apogee I could find today was =A3148.00 ($237 =
US); so no brainer. In terms of resolution, I'm guessing you're right; I ha=
ve no idea what an iPod produces. BUT, this isn't intended to be a serious =
recording rig - just for fun and curiosity really. I have my LS10 which is =
more than adequate for walkabouts, and my HD-P2 for more serious stuff. I d=
id sell all my best mics a while back now, but still have one or two to pla=
y with.
However, I do appreciate your feedback on this.
Cheers
Max
p.s. one thing I did notice while looking the the Apogee, was that it DOESN=
'T WORK WITH ALL RECORDER APPS.

Pad's converters. Arguably not great. If you are considering buying an iPo=
d for recording purposes you might want to consider spending a bit more and=
get something like the Apogee offering. More money but I'm guessing mug be=
tter quality conversion as that's what Apogee specializes in.
