Hi!

I could find nothing on CAD's website regarding that mic model. The only on=
e
listed is the E100S @ 3.7 dBA self-noise.
In any case, the 'S' at the end of their model number specifies the polar
pattern to be a supercardiod, which is not only narrower than the NT1-A, bu=
t it
also has a rear lobe that will pick up sound from the rear. I don't think t=
hat
this is a desirable situation. It may be a good thing to research 'wide car=
diod'
mics if you are afraid of a 'whole in the middle and you don't want to use=

omnis.

I would suggest looking through the archives of this list as several people=
 have
wrestled already with this issue.
There was a post yesterday regarding the use of AT-4022 omnis, etc.

I'm curious: where are you recording that it is so quiet?

Good luck,

Greg
