No, clipping occurs when the range of your input signal is larger than your= analog to digital converter can handle (usually when the gain is too high)= . The signal values outside the range are simply given the maximum (or mini= mum) possible values in the quantization process. You can check if this hap= pened by scrutinizing the waveform. In clipped parts, the tops of peaks are= not smooth but have been chopped off at a fixed level. Gabriel |
