Laura, from listening at the file on Soundcloud I can only say that
something was terribly wrong with your equipment, settings or digital
chain.  As you have used a Telinga, I look upon it as general support
if you get in touch.
As a matter of facts I don't think any of this is your fault, but I
do agree with Vicki that some supervisor should have noticed the flaws.

And I am sorry that you got messed up in a lot of irrelevant tech
talk. It's the nature of a list like this.

If you are not recording any more, I=B4m happy that Raimund finally
gave you a advice that you can use. Dialect research was made in the
seventieth from cassette recordings worse than yours and with
mechanical sonographs.
