The SMH-1 is both compact and rugged, it has a hotshoe foot on one end
and tripod thread sockets in the other end of the bottom piece which is
made of metal. The barrel of the mount is a heavy duty high strength
plastic and probably the only weak point is the hotshoe foot its self
which is a plastic foot attached to the metal plate with a screw.
However of the half dozen or more of these mounts that I have, the
hotshoe foot being plastic has never been a problem. Between R0DE and
Sennheiser microphones, I have 11 total shotgun type mics and have been
using these SMH-1 mounts on at least seven of them including the ME67
since I discovered the SMH-1 about 3 years ago and no problems have
developed in that period of time. For what the SMH-1 costs and its
strengths and compactness, I recommend it for your use, I think you'll
find it quite satisfactory...
