I'm running a line 425 feet from the top of a nearby hill to our
house. The cable is housed in 1/2' PVC pipe. Has worked for over a
year, now. Before that, the rats (and other critters) chewed thru the
cable every month or so...even when it was off the ground and run
through the trees. Then the bucks got their horns tangled in the wires
now and then even causing two to link together eternally and whose
skulls we still have mounted forever enmeshed.
