Re: What metadata to record?

Many people now rely on national weather station data (eBird, for example).=
So if location and date/time are provided anyone who needs things like pre=
ssure can interpolate isobars available online for free.

I have always, and still, think that the most important information that ca=
n be associated with a recording is actual observations of the recordist.

"A Hooded Warbler foraged low in Spicebush and called repeatedly to the ri=
ght front at 23:30. it left chasing a Cowbird sorely after."

"At 27:52 Coopers Hawk flew over and all the small birds disappeared"

"A squall line mode through at at 49:27 and wind speeds really picked up. S=
quirrels "chucked" for a while but then I lost track of them".

That sort of stuff, lame and cheap as it is, seems to tell me more about wh=
at's in a recording than almost any reports from sensors.

My $0.02 worth.

Best Regards...
