Not sure what override means, since noise is additive.
If you start out with a poor preamp even adding a low noise
mic will still bring a lot of noise to the table. Its better to start with =
a very low noise
preamp AND low noise mic.

Roland R26. its XLR inputs are quieter than the 3.5mm PIP.
Sony D50 still has the lowest noise preamp's using PIP.
I own both recorders if anyone wants to hear what they sound like, but don'=
t own the Pro 8 mic... (n x EM100's?)
