=C2=A0 It's worth noting again that the LS-100 can't be used as a recorder while a= power source (either a mains power adapter or a computer) is plugged into t= he USB port. So an external USB battery pack can't be used to power the record= er when you need phantom power. One solution is to carry a spare Li-Ion battery. At least the battery door = is on the side of the recorder, making for a fast change even when mounted on a tripod. But if you're like me, you'll constantly be worrying if it's time t= o change the battery. A second solution is to make a dummy battery patterned after the LI-50B sha= pe, and that attaches to an external 3.7V power source. And now you've got two= pieces of gear to wrangle. Sigh... Maybe a pocket-size recorder with XLR inputs isn't such a good idea after a= ll. |
