*Any* recorder that supplies phantom power to external mics is going to dra= w lots of power and your batteries are not going to last like PIP mics on a S= ony PCM-M10. You will always need an external power source for any extended recordings when deploying phantom-powered=C2=A0 mics. The design of the LS-100 appears to be truly stunted with respect to extern= al power, a really bad design flaw. I'd say sell that one and get the Roland R-26. The R-26 has the ability to = sense when the external power=C2=A0has=C2=A0been depleted (like a battery) or whe= n the=C2=A0power supply has dropped out.=C2=A0The 'final voltage' settings are menu-adjustab= le from 9 to 12 volts, thus saving your battery pack from being damaged from over-use= . - Greg O. |
