It's worth noting again that the LS-100 can't be used as a recorder while a=
 power source (either a mains power adapter or a computer) is plugged into =
the USB port.  So an external USB battery pack can't be used to power the r=
ecorder when you need phantom power.

One solution is to carry a spare Li-Ion battery.  At least the battery door=
 is on the side of the recorder, making for a fast change even when mounted=
 on a tripod. But if you're like me, you'll constantly be worrying if it's =
time to change the battery.

A second solution is to make a dummy battery patterned after the LI-50B sha=
pe, and that attaches to an external 3.7V power source.  And now you've got=
 two pieces of gear to wrangle.  Sigh...

Maybe a pocket-size recorder with XLR inputs isn't such a good idea after a=
ll.
