<<Looking again at the file, the pops occurred at 1 min 17 secs for one mic, then 2 min 15 secs for the other, the pop lasting less than 1 second. Not sure if I'd just powered up the SD702, or if it was already on for a while before I started the recording. Only happened on one track out of a dozen or so. A bit disconcerting though.>> OK, definitely not the usual pop of a condenser getting current applied. That happens in the first couple seconds & then it's stable within generally no more than 5 seconds. Perhaps what you had is just a new mic getting broken in. Hopefully Sennheiser has identified the problem & improved their quality control. Scott Fraser |
