<<re: DSD It is 1-bit coding at a high speed. Theoretically it produces lower artifacts but these are already very low, especially if you use 24 bits at higher bit rates. I suspect a commercial motive or hype. In practice DSD is very similar to high speed pulse width modulation (PWM).>> Apparently one can now edit DSD directly in Pyramix, but when DSD was intro= duced it was necessary to convert to PCM (192k 24bit) in order to do any ed= iting. So any supposed superiority of 1 bit over PCM recording was quickly = lost when doing any actual production. Scott Fraser |
