At the time I purchased the Olympus LS-11, I had narrowed my choices 
down to either the Sony PCM-M10 and the LS-11 and at the time I had 
copies of the manuals of each and did a feature for feature comparison.  
As I recall, the LS-11 was rated for 23 hours in stand-by mode and the 
PCM-M10 was rated for 24 hours in stand-by mode...   I use Tenergy high 
capacity NiMH AA cells with the Tenergy 8 cell intelligent charger, and 
I typically get several days use out of a set of 2500 ma Tenergy AA 
batteries in the LS-11.   However I rarely use it for more than 4 to 6 
hours a day when using it in the field.
