Hi David,
Thanks for the apology, and also I must sincerely apologize for my comments=
to you on the group as they felt to come off as out of context and defensi=
ve. I enjoy critical debate also, but my mind-to-written-word connections d=
o not always flow so smoothly, and sometimes it can take me a long time wri=
te anything at all. I am usually fine taking time to explore ideas, but ri=
ght now I am in the middle of a project that requires devoted attention.

I know I said I was backing out of this discussion, but I cannot help but d=
ivert just a bit more time.

Thinking about your hummingbirds and bees track (one of my favorites out th=
ere)- those are two types of animals that I sometimes find difficult to sep=
arate from anthropogenic noise as they both have frequency components very =
similar to distant highway noise.

I have one recording of close up humming bird wings with a Harley Davidson =
driving by in the background.

Though anthropogenic noise stands both as symbol of and a direct cause of n=
atural ecosystem and human health degradations, for use as art or music the=
y are sounds that, like any other sounds, can work together. Just colors in=
 the crayon box.

There is one type of anthropogenic soundscape that I find closely allied wi=
th natural soundscapes, and that is recordings of volunteers engaged in hab=
itat restoration projects.

I believe I have shared this one before, but here is a stream restoration s=
oundscape of Oregon Natural Desert Association volunteers using sledge hamm=
ers and spikes to plant willow and cottonwood slips into a gravel and cobbl=
e streambed.
