If I interpret the specs (
-microphone-boom-mic-broadcast-sport-504241) correctly, then the MKH8070 sh=
ould provide a much higher output than the MKH40 (112 mV/Pa vs 25 mV/Pa).

That might also be the reason for the subjectively higher noise floor. So, =
a fair comparison should take the very different sensitivities into account=
. This could be done for instance by attenuating the MKH8070 track by 13 dB=
