Thanks! I found what seems to be just what I need at a local big box stor=
e.
It's a 6ft stereo 3.5 to duo RCA output splitter, with a distinct left a=
nd
right, used to hook up a pair of speakers to a minidisc, mp3 player or othe=
r
small device. The cables are definitely shielded RCA style, and the entire=

thing was only $8. A very rough test by simply touching either of the two=

colored wires to the input(center) post of the rca, while touching the grou=
nd to
the outer ring, produced a clear sound. I likely will try these and see h=
ow
they work, and if they are too noisy, simply order some of the others you=

mentioned. Best part is that given the RCA ends, I really do not need to c=
ut
them off, just heat shrink the appropriate leads for a basic sound test ove=
r the
weekend. If I'm happy with the results I can solder them up "right" later=

one.(or not...maybe leave them as is in order to easier switch out the mic=

elements later on). Anyway, thanks again, this was really helpful!
