Hi everyone,
I am indeed interested regarding portable ultrasonic microphones that could=
be plugged directly to a Laptop: we would like to record ultrasonic signal=
s simultaneously (from free flying bats), using an array of microphones on =
the field (e.g. 3 microphones for 3 flying individual bats). As it is state=
d on previous comments, I presume there is a limit regarding the number of =
microphones that could be plugged on the same laptop to perform synchronize=
d recordings...
We believe the algorithm we are currently using could be useful to automati=
cally separate the information we wish to retain from a recording (here, ba=
t calls), by discarding background and white noise. We already obtained int=
eresting preliminary results by working on prerecorded samples: the algorit=
hm was able to recover bat calls from a mix, even when background noise was=
3 time louder (dB) than the signals of interest. Many questions remain tho=
ugh, it is why I am interested to find the "best" material in order to star=
t our field experiments.
Thank you for your help and comments.
