Hi Gus--
Enjoyed the changing rhythms provided by the insects. Perhaps leaf
diffusion lessens some of the higher frequencies in the insect calls
making speaker location more mysterious?
Some of the added elements mix into the space very well initially.
This is a challenge to pull-off for longer periods as one becomes
accustomed to the spatial cues and they can separate in the
listener's construction. Location acoustics can play a role. If you
haven't tried it, capturing reverb impulses at the recording sites
can be useful. There are native and third party software options that
will produce reverb settings with some common traits to make
adjustments from. This feature is in Logic Audio's SoundDesiger plug;
Nuendo probably has similar accommodations.
Yes, a bunch of channels is tough to replicate, but four or five
channels seems to be lot more illustrative than two. One not so
complicated way to share 4-6 channel work using QT Pro:

browsers I've tried. Rob D.
