The most common local hawks are Cooper Hawks by the way. Interesting to note that it is difficult to find Cathartes aura ( turkey vulture ) audio recordings on the internet. I am finding some raspy scratchy voiced recordings that seem like they are the vultures on the ground around a carcass but I am not coming across any vulture in the sky calls. Come to think of it, I don't ever remember hearing a vulture in the sky, just on the ground. Thomas |
