Thank you so much for your reply.

I will be recording during the night to get a quieter recording. Random 
background sounds would not be a problem, I just want to avoid the constant 
traffic rumble. Unfortunately, most places around London are flat and the sound 
travels very far. Maybe Kent would be a good place to try?
