I've happily used a Sennheiser ME66 gun mic with my Olympus LS10.
The mic is powered by a single AA battery. Mine is mounted in a Rode
hand grip with a Rode softie windcover and is useful for single
species recordings. There are various plug-in-power options for
stereo mics as well.
