I just got a H4n, too, and agree with all oryoki's comments. I'd add
one more thing: the mics are VERY prone to being off-set (out of
position) by the slightest
pressure. They break easily. I know. The unit dropped out of my hand
and fell to my desk...a distance of approx 7 or 8 inches (18cm)...and,
of course, fell top down on the
mics (not a good idea with any system). Both mics were destroyed. The
Zoom folks know about this problem and even offered to replace the
unit. So that's the good
news.

Record-wise, I've been using it with DPA 4060s and, for the price,
it's really remarkable and quite quiet.
