Hi Randy-- In a test of mic arrays made by James Boyk at Caltech in 1988 http://www.its.caltech.edu/~boyk/, he came to conclusion that he liked the stereo imaging of ribbon mics in a Blumlein pair the best. Do you happen to have a field recording made with a pair of ribbon mics that you can possibly share with us? :-) What model of Cascade mics? How do you typically use/mix-in your shotgun with this array? I see this may be your first post, if so, welcome to the list! Rob D. -- |
