SONY PCM-M10 noise test

Hi folks,

I just received a SONY PCM-M10 and measured the EIN of its microphone input=
. The figure of -122 dBu(A) that I got is very similar to that of the Olymp=
us LS-10/11. But in contrast to the Olympus recorders (which exhibit a unfo=
rtunate increase of the noise below about 500 Hz), the frequency spectrum o=
f the noise floor is quite flat across the entire frequency range. Consider=
ing its exceptionally long battery life, it seems to me that the new SONY P=
CM-M10 is the winner in this class of inexpensive and compact pocket record=
ers.

Regards,
Raimund
