http://naturesound.org/this_weeks_recordings/Entries/2009/10/11_Nothing_is_= beautiful.html This is a strange one (for most folks other than here) Recorded on Sunrise (Mount Rainier NP. WA) This is basically =93Nothing=94 but in my world, nothing is beautiful! There are not many places on this planet that you can set up your microphones and not hear people! The other reason I'm posting this is because it is a great test for the recorder and the microphones. There is no =93Hiss=94 from either the microphones or the recorder. At the beginning of the recording I have placed a 35 decibel tone and set the record volume to 58.9 db. What is amazing is that all previous recordings on my website are basically the same settings. In quiet environments you need to know that what you hear is what you get. The time was 10:45 p.m.. The temperature: 39f. The skies were clear. Humidity was 48%. Microphones used: MKH-40/30 MS combination. Recorder SD 722. Sample rate: 44.1K 24 bit.
