Something that might be useful for those facing the problem of digitising tape is this report commissioned by the National Recording Presevation Board of the Library of Congress. The report from 2006 is titled "Capturing Analog Sound for Digital Preservation: Report of a Roundtable Discussion of Best Practices for Transferring Analog Discs and Tapes". http://www.clir.org/pubs/reports/pub137/pub137.pdf Another resource that might prove useful is Jason Molin's Audio Digitisation page which has links to a number of "best practices" resources. http://jasonmolin.net/projects/audio_digitization/#macaulay regards Paul |
