We'll correct that bad habit of you give us a chance.
For me, a sense of "space" is a crucial part of the aesthetic of most
field recordings. This sets these recordings apart from most
recordings we consume on an everyday basis. If its worth doing, its
worth doing well.
What mics would people suggest to Al for making spacious recordings
of insects with no more than $500 max to spend? (This assumes he'll
put $450USD towards the new Sony recorder, a phantom power supply and
be within his $1000USD budget).
