Oops, my previous post went out a bit too early. The last sentence should b= e as follows: In any case, I would agree that a recorder that provides a A/D dynamic rang= e of 114 dB (such as the SD 7xx series units) would indeed reduce the need = to care about noise floors and clipping levels.
