You can get photo tripods that are both very light and very cheap. You
wouldn't want to put an expensive camera on them, but mics are light.
Consider them to be disposable!

You can get adaptors from the photo 1/4" to the Euro 3/8", or two
adaptors (one inside the other) to get from photo 1/4" to 3/8" to 5/16
(American mic).

All windscreens roll off the high frequencies a little, but you can't
live without them.
