This is why live playback of music, especially electroacoustic compositions=
designed with multiple channels in mind, is so relevant. For three years I=
have been co-curating a series here in Ireland that has presented works fr=
om Xenakis, Wishart and others in configurations of up to 8 channels... all=
 high quality Genelec speakers.

The sound can only be described as other-worldly. Though correct diffusions=
of something like La Legende d'Eer might be rare (even with a multichannel=
DVD commercially available), those occasions are cause for great joy.

I hope to work on a piece for my thesis that will incorporate phonography (=
perhaps even live streams of location recordings) into a multichannel perfo=
rmance environment.
