I've been looking into this area in some depth as part of my research and practice. Nothing groundbreaking has popped up that I can think of. The best thinking (and reading) IMO comes from contemporary photographic discourse (interesting that the term 'framing' seems so appropriate in relation to sound work), much of which is applicable to the aesthetics of a lot of current natural soundscape practice. Personally I'm fond of the notions multi-discursivity and of the idea of 'listening through' to the real. James |
