Check to see whether you can turn off the phantom power in the
Fostex. You might be able to connect the SVM unbalanced-- that is--
with a stereo 3.5mm (female) -> 2 XLRM adapter cable in which pin #3
is connected to ground (pin #1).

This seems to potentially apply only to your SVM. Email Rode and ask
them about using an adapter cable or other suggestion? Rob D.
