Yes. It is the same. In fact, the meatcafe vid came from my article in 
Make Magazine. The Olympus DS-30 recorder is certainly small and light 
enough to mount right on the parabolic focal shaft. I would not 
recommend it though since it is very sensitive to handling noise. It 
would be better to detach the stereo mic that comes with it (a 
surprisingly good little mic) and mount it on the dish. Then run small 
cable from the mic to the recorder.
