This may be too lo-fi for you, but for $20 you can get the iTalkPro
that attaches to your iPod and actually makes recordings that are
listenable, if not professional. I own a $4,000 recorder, but got one
of these for spontaneous instant recordings. Won't work for music,
but hey it's only $20!
