Just to reiterate: The Griffin iTalk Pro is a $20 microphone for an ipod. The Griffin iMic 2 is a $35 USB audio interface for a Mac or PC. The iMic 2 has inputs for microphone or line level, and a line level output. Here's another possibility: Purchase an inexpensive recorder like the Zoom H2 (about $200 with SDHC flash card). Use the recorder to capture the birdsong, then transfer the recordings via USB to the Macintosh. The pocket-size Zoom H2 will give you many more options than using your computer as the recording device. The Zoom H2's built-in mics sound good, too. --oryoki |
