No additional software required (huzzah!). Quicktime and iTunes will
play the WAV or MP3 files on a Mac.  Windows Media Player will play
the WAV or MP3 files on a PC.  There are plenty of alternative music
players, too.

You'll need an audio editor or digital audio workstation software if
you plan to analyze or modify the recording.  Olympus includes a copy
of the Cubase LE4 software in the box with the LS-10.  The CD includes
a version for Mac as well as PC.  Audacity is a popular free audio
editor.  Cornell's Laboratory of Ornithology makes its Raven Lite
analysis software available for free.
