Then the Sony manual must be wrong as it clearly shows the mic on the left =
being recorded on the left when in the 120 degree position and then swappin=
g to the right when in the 90 degree position. Implying that as you move th=
e capsule it swaps from one to the other?

I forgot to mention that there is obviously no automatic channel
swapping in the PCM-D50. So, if necessary, one had to swap the
channels manually on the computer. This makes sense because one can
set the capsules to any position between 90 and 120=B0.
