The Mac's Disk Utility application can handle all Mac OS filesystems
as well as FAT32 (which is somewhat inaccurately labelled as "MS-DOS
File System"). IIRC, it can even write FAT16, but I might be wrong.
When formatting a drive, you can usually choose which FS you'd like to
use.
