This is very easy to experiment with - and small mic especially lavaliers can be taped to the wall, and eliminate completely any echoes from that wall. It would be tempting to try putting on on each of the four walls and recording four tracks. Staning in the middle of four speakers might be like standing in the middle of the cage!
