MDFrancey,
Sorry to hear that you are experiencing a similar dilemma. I took your
advice and plugged my Sony Hi-MD recorder in and didn't notice any
(static) noise but I became well aware of how quiet the Nagra preamps
are as compared to the Hi-MD and the overall sound is noticeably more
quiet. That's just a side note though. I also plugged a Sennheiser
Me-62 into the Nagra and didn't seem to notice any problems either. I
then plugged the Telinga Pro-6 back into the Nagra and there it was
again. (STATIC) It still seems to be intermittent and It seems like if
I move my Nagra around it starts to crackle and just seems overly
sensitive. Again, this is just intermittent and it doesn't seem to
corollate with anything in particular except for the possible
connection of me touching or moving the metal clips where the straps
connect to the Nagra. It's almost as if something isn't grounded just
right. quite perplexing... I'm crossing my fingers that Telinga gets
back to me with some possible clues.
I wish you luck with your problem as well. Kyle
