Thanks again Rob for your post. I am not looking for that low of a noise floor for this application. I still have my 722 and NT1-A's for those applications. I've been an amateur photographer for 25 years and I rejected point and shoot cameras for the same reason of quality. As I get older I finally realized that I didn't always want to bring all the gear with me all the time so I broke down and bought a small Nikon coolpix and was very happy that I did. This portable unit with electrets will be my audio "point and shoot". Many thanks to all the helpful list members.
