hi all, for those interested in "bench racing" recorders, I've checked with Sound Devices tech support and they confirmed that the sensitivity of the normal gain mic input is -47.4dBu for 0dBFS. The figure of 70dB gain often mentioned in the archives simply didn't sit right with the correction figures used in Rob D's sub $1000 recorder tests, nor with Raimund Specht's test figures. a sensitivity of -47.4dBu for 0dBFS plays nicely with both sets of testing. cheers paul |
