I loaded a pristine dawn chorus file from last year here in Redmond
into the "Song Scope" program i have about 100 files in the
recognizer folder (local birds)
The software scanned the file and came up with multiple choices, out
of many selections, one particular section gave me 4 choices of a
vocalization:
1) Red-winged blackbird
2) American Robin
3) Spotted Towhee
4) Winter wren
The actual song was a "Song Sparrow".... I have never heard any of the
above selections sound remotely like a song sparrow, Bewick's wren yes!
The program did actually find a red-winged blackbird "pip" sound but
that was about it.
The file was 20 minutes in length...
