The Song Meter manual says the unit can provide 2.5V DC bias 
for plug-in power mics.  

That voltage is about the same as a minidisc recorder provides, and a
little low compared with the 3V to 5V power provided by some other
recorders.  I guess that's the level of power needed to work with the
mic capsules that Wildlife Acoustics provides with the unit.
